Is it Necessary to Thank Your Employees with a Corporate Gift?
Saying thank you is easy, but finding a gift isn’t always the easiest. Finding a gift for a family member or significant other is simple, but finding a gift for one of your employees can be difficult. So, how do you say thank you to your employee?
Is it necessary you may ask? Well, everyone likes to feel like they matter. Employees love having a special day where everyone takes the time out to appreciate them. If it is an employee’s birthday and you want to make them feel special, but you’re not quite sure what to get them. You don’t want to get too personal and you want to be professional but you want the gift to fit the employee.
During lunch, try throwing a mini surprise party with a cake, a few decorations and all your employees or select employees. Have each employee say something nice about the birthday guy or girl. Instead of purchasing something on your own or having employees purchase something, have each employee pitch in a dollar amount and make the gift from everyone in the office. This is a good idea for corporate thank you gifts.
If your employee has been meeting their sales goal or if they have been going above and beyond to meet their standards, thank them with a gift. It is necessary to give a gift if someone is retiring. Giving a gift when someone retires is showing your gratitude for working at your company, it is a milestone in their life. You can use the same idea as a birthday lunch or set up a date for the office to attend the retiree’s favorite restaurant.
Another instance for giving a gift to your employee is if there has been a loss in the family. This is an appropriate time for flowers or a small gift basket. If your employee happens to be in the hospital for an injury or a health reason, that is also an appropriate to time give a corporate gift.
If your employee is expecting an addition to the family such as a baby or an adoption, this is also a good time to give a gift. Employees like for their hard work to be noticed and recognized for their accomplishments, especially if they have been doing a little extra around the office. Reward them with a small thank you gift.
You don’t always have to save a corporate gift for your employee. If you have worked closely with a realtor and they have helped you find the home of your dreams, it is nice to present them with a corporate gift. Your personal hair stylist counts as well, you may not see them every day but, every time you have a hair emergency they come to the rescue. Show your appreciate them and present them with a gift around the holidays or just because. If an employee is celebrating an anniversary for being employed at your company award them with a gift.
Teachers count too! If your son or daughter has a favorite teacher from pre-school to college, they deserve a gift as well; after all they have spent time teaching your child or young adult.
If you have sold your home or if you are a realtor, congratulate the buyer with a corporate gift as a welcome to their new home.
If you have recently gotten married and you had a wedding planner, don’t forget about them! They lightened the stress load and made your day one to remember. Why not send your wedding planner a thank you gift. Thank you gift baskets are also a good idea.
It doesn’t always have to be a corporate occasion to give or receive a corporate gift.
